 Yard Safety

cocoa mulch photo Please use caution when purchasing lawn and garden products. Some lawn products have been linked to cancer and other illnesses in pets and people! Organic products can also harm pets if ingested. Cocoa bean mulch is one such product. It smells like chocolate and can be deadly to pets when ingested.
Pets can also become ill by eating treated grass or licking their fur or paws after walking on treated lawns. Read garden product labels and follow the directions. Keep pets and children off treated areas until the lawn is dried. Please also keep pets away for any type of insect bait.
Have a safe and fun summer with your family and pets. Please consider nontoxic ways to treat lawns and gardens. Keep the 24 hour Animal Poison hotline 888-232- 8870 handy in case of a poisoning emergency.
