Protect Your Pet From Xylitol Poisioning!

Xylitol is a sweetener used as an ingredient in many products including chocolate, multivitamins, toothpaste, candies and gums. It is a safe product for use in people but is a major health concern if ingested by pets. Vomiting, weakness, ataxia and seizures are some of the signs of Xylitol posioning. Ingestion of products containing Xylitol cause liver failure and hypoglycemia in pets. Xylitol poisioning is an emergency situation for pets and your pet should be immediately treated at a veterinary hospital. Early treatment at a veterinary hospital may save your pet's life. Please keep medications, baking products, and other household products out of the the reach of pets.

 Skunk Odor Treatment

vv nl skunk To neutralize and deodorize skunk spray, bathe your pet in a mixture of 1 quart of 3% hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup of baking soda, and 1 teaspoon of liquid detergent(DAWN). Allow the application to stay on the pet for 5 minutes and then rinse. Repeat as necessary. The neutralizing mixture must be used immediately and will not work if stored. You will need to double or triple the formula for large dogs. Previously, tomato juice had been recommended to neutralize skunk odor but it is poor at permanently ridding the pet of skunk smell.
